Luxury isn’t just about what you hold, it’s about how it makes you feel.

A Qatar-based luxury perfume brand approached us with a vision to create a shopping experience unlike any other. They weren’t just looking for digital marketing content; they wanted something that would captivate customers the moment they walked into the store .It was to create stunning 3D visuals for a holographic fan display. It was an exciting challenge, but not without its complexities.

How do you take a physical perfume bottle and transform it into a digital masterpiece that looks just as luxurious in mid-air?

And how do you do it remotely, when the display screens are thousands of kilometers away in Qatar

The Challenge: Crafting Perfection in Thin Air

A holographic fan isn’t a regular screen. It doesn’t have a background, and everything it displays must appear as if it’s floating in midair. This meant we had to rethink how we designed the animations. Every perfume bottle, every reflection, every movement had to be carefully planned to ensure it looked seamless when spinning on the fan’s blades.

We started by modeling over 113 unique perfume bottles in 3D, making sure each one was a perfect digital twin of its real-world counterpart. Some had intricate gold detailing, some had frosted glass, and others had high-gloss finishes. Every single detail had to be recreated perfectly. If a bottle had a deep blue tint in real life, we made sure it had the same depth and vibrancy in the holographic display.. We studied how glass reacts to different lighting conditions, ensuring that our 3D models captured every nuance.

3D Perfume Bottle with Animation

Working Remotely on a Qatar-Based Display

One of the biggest hurdles was that the holographic fans were in Qatar, but our team was working from India. We had to rely on continuous testing and feedback to make sure our animations worked perfectly on the actual displays

Luckily, our client was incredibly supportive, helping us test our first animation on their end. This helped us understand how the display handled reflections, rotations, and movements. Once we got the first video right, we knew exactly how to refine the rest.

Lighting, Shadows, and the Art of Floating Visuals :Making the Holographic Effect Work

Unlike traditional screens where backgrounds provide depth, a holographic fan relies entirely on light and motion to create a sense of realism. We had to make sure that every bottle looked as if it were actually floating in space, without harsh edges or unnatural shadows .Our initial tests showed that some animations had unwanted shadows or reflections, which made the bottles look unrealistic.

To fix this, we quickly pivoted to using chroma renders, stripping away everything except the product itself. This allowed us to maintain the integrity of the holographic illusion, making each bottle look crisp, clean, and perfectly positioned in midair.

Matching Real-World Materials in a Digital Space

Luxury brands have strict quality standards, and color and material accuracy were non-negotiable. Some bottles were sleek and transparent, while others had matte finishes or metallic coatings. A slight mismatch in color or texture would make the 3D version look fake.

Our team even cross-checked each bottle under different lighting conditions, making sure it looked exactly like the real one no matter the angle or store lighting.

Beating the Clock and Streamlining for Scale

With 113 bottles to model, animate, and render under a tight deadline, time was a major challenge. We had to work fast without compromising quality. Efficiency became our top priority, and we implemented a streamlined workflow to stay on track.

To stay ahead of this, we established a master animation setup using a camera system that allowed smooth, consistent movements across different bottle shapes and sizes. This not only ensured a cohesive final display but also saved valuable production time. We also built a library of materials and textures to avoid recreating elements from scratch, speeding up the process without sacrificing detail.

Constant communication with the client played a crucial role. Their fast approvals and real-time feedback allowed us to make quick adjustments, ensuring we stayed aligned with their vision. Despite the pressure, our team worked smart, overcoming the challenge of tight deadlines and delivering a polished, high-quality final product on time.

The Final Spectacle

After weeks of modeling, refining, and optimizing, the final display was nothing short of mesmerizing. Each bottle hovered effortlessly, turning in space as light danced across its curves. Customers walking into the store were greeted with floating, rotating, ultra-luxurious perfume bottles, glowing as if they were suspended in air. It was more than just a display. It was an experience.

Our client was beyond thrilled, and so were we. This wasn’t just another 3D animation project—it was a glimpse into the future of retail marketing. By blending technology, creativity, and storytelling, we transformed a luxury product into a futuristic masterpiece.

A Glimpse Into the Future of Product Showcasing

Holographic fans are changing the way luxury products are presented. With this project, we proved that even traditional industries like perfume can embrace cutting-edge technology to captivate their audience.

For us, it was more than just an animation project.

It was about pushing creative boundaries and crafting an experience that left a lasting impression.

It was a reminder that when passion meets innovation, anything is possible.

And that’s exactly what we love doing.
